West Ham United have strengthened their defensive options with the arrival of Athletic Club left-back Adama Boiro on a season-long loan.
The 24-year-old, who was born in Senegal, moved to Pamplona during his childhood and developed through Osasuna’s system before making the switch to Athletic Club in 2024.
Boiro arrives in England with valuable experience at the highest level of Spanish football. He has already featured 45 times in competitions including La Liga, the UEFA Champions League and the Europa League.
Speaking after completing his move, Boiro expressed his delight at joining the Hammers and his eagerness to begin working with his new teammates.
The defender also welcomed the challenge ahead, pointing to West Ham’s ambitions and their push for promotion. He believes his determination, work ethic and competitive mentality can play a role in helping the team achieve its goals.
Boiro will now look to settle quickly into his new surroundings and make an immediate impact as West Ham prepare for the season ahead.
