Manchester United are reportedly planning to send promising young forward Chido Obi Martin out on loan this summer as interest in the 18-year-old continues to grow.

Obi Martin, who joined the Red Devils from Arsenal in 2024, is regarded as one of the club's most exciting academy prospects. However, the club's coaching staff believe he still requires regular competitive football before making the step up to the senior squad.

Rather than sanctioning a permanent transfer, United are said to favour a temporary move that would accelerate the Denmark Under-21 international's development. Despite an impressive scoring record at youth level, his pre-season performances have highlighted the need for more first-team experience.

The club is expected to carefully assess potential destinations, with reports indicating a preference for a move to a club outside the Premier League. Such an arrangement is seen as the best opportunity for Obi Martin to secure consistent playing time and continue his development.

While the situation could change depending on transfer activity before the close of the window, Obi Martin currently faces stiff competition for attacking places. New arrival Benjamin Sesko, alongside Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, are ahead of him in the club's striking options for the 2026/27 campaign.

Meanwhile, the futures of Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford remain uncertain, with both players linked with possible departures from Old Trafford before the transfer window closes.
