Super Eagles players


Chadian official Alhadi Allaou Mahamat has been appointed as the referee for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria's Super Eagles and South Africa's Bafana Bafana. The match will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo next month.

Mahamat, 38, has been an international referee for 12 years and has officiated in prestigious competitions such as the CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup, and the 34th Africa Cup of Nations held in Cote d’Ivoire earlier this year. He will be assisted by Mohammed Ibrahim Abdallah from Sudan (assistant referee 1), Abelmiro Dos Reis Monte Negro from Sao Tome & Principe (assistant referee 2), and Pousri Armi Alfred from Chad (fourth official). The match is scheduled to commence at 8 pm Nigeria time on Friday, 7th June.

The referee assessor for the match will be Ahmed Sayed Abou Elela from Egypt, while the commissioner will be Munkaila Nassam Adam from Ghana.

In another appointment, Ethiopian official Bamlak Tessema Weyesa, 43, has been appointed as the referee for the Day 4 encounter between Nigeria and Benin Republic's Cheetahs at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny in Abidjan. The match will kick off at 4 pm CIV time (5 pm Nigeria) on Monday, 10th June. Weyesa will be supported by Temesgin Samuel Atango (assistant referee 1), Tigle Gizaw Belachew (assistant referee 2), and Tewodros Mitiku (fourth official) from Ethiopia. Djamel Haimoudi from Algeria will serve as the referee assessor, while David Yameogo from Burkina Faso will be the commissioner, and Ivorian Claude Elloh will work as the security officer.
