Chelsea’s plans to strengthen their midfield could face complications after Bournemouth made it clear they are not prepared to consider an immediate approach for Alex Scott.

The England midfielder remains a major target for Chelsea, who have maintained an interest in securing his services. However, Bournemouth are determined to keep the player at the club for the remainder of the season.

Scott’s long-term future remains the subject of speculation, with Chelsea currently regarded as the club showing the strongest interest in the midfielder. Bournemouth, however, are not under pressure to cash in and are expected to turn down approaches in the next transfer window.

The club values Scott at more than €110 million (£94.6 million), although that figure does not necessarily signal a willingness to sell when the January window opens.

Chelsea have already tested Bournemouth’s resolve, with a proposal worth more than €70 million being rejected. Despite that setback, Scott remains on the London club’s list of midfield targets.

Bournemouth expect interest in the player to continue, but sources maintain that their preference is for Scott to remain at the Vitality Stadium until the end of the campaign.
