Manchester City have won the race to sign highly rated Leicester City youngster Jeremy Monga after reaching an agreement worth around £10 million, dealing a blow to Arsenal's pursuit of the teenage prospect.
Arsenal had been in discussions with Leicester over a potential transfer for the promising winger and were hopeful of bringing him to the Emirates. However, the negotiations failed to produce an agreement, allowing City to move ahead and secure the deal.
Monga is regarded as one of England's brightest emerging football talents. He made history as the third-youngest player to appear in the Premier League, with only Arsenal academy products Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri making their debuts at a younger age.
The teenager was only 15 when he made his Premier League debut for Leicester in a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United. He is expected to celebrate his 17th birthday later this month.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Manchester City had successfully completed negotiations with both Leicester City and the player's representatives after Arsenal were unable to finalise an agreement.

Leicester's relegation at the end of last season has increased pressure on the club to reshape its squad before the new campaign, with player sales forming part of its rebuilding plans.
Monga is currently registered with Leicester on scholarship terms and is due to sign his first professional contract on July 10, his 17th birthday. That timeline gives Manchester City only a short window to complete the transfer before the contractual situation becomes more complex.
