Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he is still waiting for Bernardo Silva to decide whether he will remain at the club beyond this season.

The Portuguese midfielder, whose contract is set to expire in the summer, has recently been linked with a possible free transfer to Italian giants Juventus. Despite the speculation, Guardiola is hopeful the experienced playmaker will choose to continue his journey at City.

Speaking ahead of City’s FA Cup fourth-round clash against Salford City, Guardiola explained that the decision ultimately rests with the player. He added that he has asked Silva to inform him once he has reached a final conclusion about his future.

Guardiola’s comments suggest that while City would welcome Silva’s stay, the club is prepared to respect whatever choice the midfielder makes.
