Andrew Robertson

Liverpool have reportedly stepped in to prevent Andrew Robertson from completing a proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Discussions had taken place over the past week between Spurs and the reigning Premier League champions regarding the 31-year-old defender. However, the transfer has now been halted by the Merseyside club.

Robertson’s role at Anfield has diminished this season following the summer arrival of Milos Kerkez. The Scotland international has started just four of Liverpool’s 14 league matches so far, prompting speculation about his long-term future under new manager Arne Slot.

Despite that uncertainty, both Slot and club captain Virgil van Dijk publicly voiced their opposition to the transfer after Liverpool’s dramatic 3–2 loss to Bournemouth, stressing the importance of Robertson to the squad.

According to The Times, their stance has prevailed, with Liverpool ultimately blocking the left-back’s proposed £5 million switch to North London
