The Super Eagles of Nigeria experienced a mid-air emergency after departing Polokwane, South Africa en route to Uyo, prompting an unscheduled landing in Luanda, Angola.
The ValueJet-operated aircraft had taken off after a refueling stop, but approximately 25 minutes into the flight, a loud crack was heard on the windshield, forcing the pilot to turn back and land as a safety precaution.
All players, team officials, and accompanying government representatives on board are safe. They are currently in Luanda, awaiting further travel arrangements from ValueJet.
