Plans have been concluded to hold a one-day football coaching seminar in Ilorin, the capital city of Kwara State.
Organized and
proudly sponsored by the Head Coach of Flying Eagles of Nigeria, Aliyu Zubairu,
the seminar aims to empower grassroots football coaches in the state with
modern techniques.
The seminar,
scheduled for Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Kwara Football Academy beginning
from 8am, will feature Coach Zubairu and experienced gaffer Coach Gbenga
Ogunbote as facilitators.
Coach Zubairu
will handle a session on "Typical Match Analysis and Evaluation,"
while Coach Ogunbote's session will focus on "How to Develop a Player
Technically."
The seminar
will include both theory and practical sessions, and participants have been
selected through a rigorous application and scrutiny process.
Coach Zubairu
said, "Our focus is not only to train coaches but to inspire excellence in
them. We believe the knowledge acquired will translate into their job in
training and producing the next generation of football talents that will make
the country proud."
The seminar
will be followed by the grand finale of the second edition of Coach Aliyu
Zubairu's U15 football tournament, featuring the third-place match between
Barca Kiddies, the winner of the inaugural edition of the tournament and Gidado
FA at 3 pm, and the final match between Future Stars and Gaa Akanbi Kids at 4
pm.
A total
number of 20 teams with over 400 kids participated in the tournament, which was
initiated to discover emerging football talents.
Top dignitaries
and stakeholders are expected to witness the grand finale event, which is also
scheduled to take place at Kwara Football Academy.
The
twin-packed project forms part of the broader effort of Coach Aliyu Zubairu in
giving back to society and also developing football at the grassroots level.
