In a surprise
visit to the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) office of the Niger
Delta Sports Festival (NDSF), the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade,
expressed his admiration for the festival’s organization and impact.
Olopade, who
arrived on the eve of the official opening ceremony, was warmly received by
Itiako Ikpokpo, Co-Chairman of the MOC and lead consultant at Dunamis Icon, the
festival's organizing body. Dressed in elegant traditional attire, Olopade
lauded the efforts of the organizing team, describing their work as a milestone
for the future of Nigerian sports.
"I am
truly impressed by what has been achieved here. This is a reflection of a new
era in the country’s sports development," Olopade remarked. "At the
National Sports Festival, we hope to collaborate with you on some of the
innovative strategies implemented in managing the Niger Delta Sports
Festival."
Ikpokpo, in
response, expressed gratitude for Olopade’s visit and acknowledged the
continuous support from NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko and the Director-General.
"Your
presence on the eve of this grand opening is a tremendous morale booster for
us," Ikpokpo stated. "On behalf of the entire team, I extend our
appreciation for the President’s endorsement of this festival, and we eagerly
anticipate welcoming Mallam Dikko, who will be representing the President at
the event."
