The Nigeria Football Federation has named Manu Garba as the new Head Coach of the Nigeria U17 boys, Golden Eaglets. Garba, a former U17 World Cup winner, previously led the team to victory in the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2013, marking Nigeria's fourth triumph at that level.

Garba's 2013 squad included notable players such as Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi, Isaac Success, Musa Mohammed, Chidiebere Nwakali, and goalkeeper Dele Alampasu. Despite finishing as runners-up at the African U17 Championship in Morocco, the team's impressive performance at the World Cup included a 6-1 win against Mexico, a 3-3 draw with Sweden, and a 5-0 victory over Iraq in the group stage.

In the knockout stages, the Golden Eaglets defeated Iran 4-1, Uruguay 2-0 in the quarter-finals, and Sweden 3-0 in the semi-finals before clinching the title with a 3-0 win over Mexico in the final.

Garba will immediately begin preparations for the upcoming WAFU B U17 Championship in Ghana with the Golden Eaglets.
