MultiChoice, the prominent Pay TV provider in Sub-Saharan Africa, which owns DStv and GoTV, has announced an exciting partnership with Cycling Lagos (www.cyclinglagos.com), one of the continent's largest cycling events, scheduled to take place in Lagos on October 21 and 28, 2023.

This marks the second time that the cable TV giant is throwing its support behind this event, aiming to showcase the unique world of cycling to its millions of subscribers across Africa.

Tope Oshunkeye, executive head of marketing at MultiChoice Nigeria, expressed his enthusiasm for this partnership in Lagos. He stated, "We are delighted to provide media partnership for the Cycling Lagos event in October." With this collaboration, MultiChoice, known for delivering a wide array of entertainment channels to DSTV and GoTV subscribers, will actively participate in promoting and covering the cycling event.

Bamidele Adeleye, Managing Director of BrandEscort Communication and the brain behind this cycling initiative, commended MultiChoice for their steadfast support of Cycling Lagos. He views this continued partnership as a testament to MultiChoice's belief in the event's organizers. Adeleye remarked, "About five years ago, we embarked on this unique project with the support of Multichoice, and here we are again with the second edition, and our partnership with MultiChoice continues to thrive. We are genuinely excited to collaborate with the Pay TV company to promote a healthy lifestyle in Nigeria and Africa through cycling."

During a recent press conference held to unveil the event's activities, Mr. Oluwatoyin Gafaar, the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, emphasized the commitment of the Lagos State Government to ensuring that the 2nd Cycling Lagos is not only a resounding success but also leaves an enduring impact on grassroots sports development in the state. He reiterated this commitment, emphasizing the potential for discovering new sporting talents within Lagos through the second edition of Cycling Lagos.

The upcoming second edition encompasses five categories: Corporate race, Celebrity race, Amateur race, Children's race, and Professional race, ensuring that participants of all interests and skill levels are accommodated.

The 2nd Cycling Lagos, themed "Greener Ride," will commence with its Mini Tour of Lagos—a promotional tour visiting select locations in Lagos—on October 21, 2023. The Children's Edition will also take place on October 21, 2023, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. The grand finale of the event is set to captivate Lagos on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

In addition to MultiChoice, the 2023 edition of Cycling Lagos has garnered support from various organizations, including the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lagos State Cycling Association, Nestle Nigeria Plc, and others.
